Autumn’s Whisper
Seasonal meditation and more

We are the autumnal leaves…
Even as we flutter fall with age,
Scattered wide over layered landscapes
Gold with gilded earthy veins,
Threaded expertly with decrepitudes,
Fine fingered hand flawlessly flourishing.
Burnt umber blazing with stoked passion,
Fires furnaces flamed in flickering features —
Passion incarnate… they burn bright,
For a time, till they too fall from glory,
To dank alleyways of Awesome Grace.
Orange like tangerines and fall’s
Plush and plumped pumpkin,
Mingled with hairs of emerald,
Fast fading from remembered life.
Canary yellow the bursts of Radiance,
Almost as if flying with wings —
Not just drifting, but gliding
Through fall’s crisp gusts.
Pasty white & brittle brown,
The past parchments of those
Who came before us, the lessons lived,
That point to Him in all of us…
Perhaps in all our rapidly vanishing time,
He is still speaking,
Here now,
With you.
As always,
Dust
