Ever Full in a Digital Wilderness
Loneliness Living Less

Sometimes I wonder if modernity has created a kind of social vacuum. We become separated, unless united by the very thing that separates us: our phones.
Don’t get me wrong, I use mine all the time. I even write with it. But one thing I never do is let it rule my decisions or make my connections. Real life is still real. Digital life can be real too — if it is interspersed with presence, with flesh-and-blood encounters.
The funny thing is that from my point of view, nothing has really changed, except now people walk around with their excuse in hand.
• The excuse not to interact because it costs us something.
• The excuse that saying hello would be a distraction.
• The excuse of pretending to be deep in thought while staring at a screen.
I’m not judging. I do the same thing. But now that I’m aware of it, I fight back against that tendency.
We already face so many barriers in life. Why add another? We are all lonely at some point, all searching for connection. Yet we are alone only if we choose to be.
I was once just as lonely as you. Then I discovered the true reason for my loneliness: the absence of communion with the Father. When I stopped talking at Him and began talking to Him, everything changed. When I quit chasing what I thought I needed, and simply sought Him for Himself, I became a fountain. And now I am ever full, still pouring into this digital wilderness, telling you it is not a one-off experience. You too can be ever full.
The secret is simple. The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. They exist. Different cultures use different words, but they point to the same Reality. Different names, but the same call.
Engage the Father. Talk to Him like He is beside you, not far away. Ask, and you will receive. Knock, and the door will open. Seek, and you will find.
Such simplicity — hidden behind all our complexity.
Sincerely Dust
