Genuflected Gratitude
Surrender, stolid supplication, Genuflected in worshipful adoration, To the Holy One, To He who dwells on High.
Surrender, stolid supplication,
Genuflected in worshipful adoration,
To the Holy One,
To He who dwells on High.
Hush now, silent sweet,
As I utter a mystery, hidden deep as if in sleep:
He is within the soul that seeks;
With breath and life, He Breathes.
So Holy One , Who Is and Who Was,
And ever shall be ,
We, with adoration and heart aplenty, kneel in prayer,
That we might be purified and laid bare.
Sanctified and Worthy are You,
Name above all Names,
King of Glory Eternal,
The Father’s Radiance in the Face of the Son.
We praise You with our meager meanings,
With hearts clouded and in shade,
With inner conflicts, with faith and failure careening,
Yet we stand awestruck in Your presence, remade.
To You who Animate and Breathe,
Who Emote and Evoke, Inspire and Speak,
We cry globally: “Abba, give us breath!”
We pray for future faith and hope.
Guide us, Holy One,
Unify us.
As You are One,
Let us be One.
