Louie
Mr. Snoofles
Mr. Snoofles

His name is Louie
Snoofly soft, silky sheened, bright eyed
Hypoallergenic, fine hair shaded black and white
Tuxedo colors flown proudly
At times we call him Mr. Snoofles
All his snorty sounds sniffling for effect
He does not walk, he graces the ground
With fleet-footed prancing maneuvers
He is a baby, my precious 9-month-old
Little Lion they call Him
Chinese Shih Tzu his hallowed heritage
Prideful in gleeful ignorance, love his only language
His face is smooshed,
Brachiocephalic, short snouted snoofler,
Big, Luminous brown eyes, capable of insane empathy
Innocence incarnate, till you catch him eating cat biscuits
We should have named Him Loyal
His unique power to produce smiles, chasing his own tail
To replace weary with cozy, clingy in the best way
His pristine freak flag able to project unadulterated joy
He’s a silly boy
Eating sticks, leaves, and everything else
Shoes also are amongst his treasured chew toys
A little prince in His kingdom
When I look at his clumsy self
I feel joy, and overwhelming protective parental love
I see a son, a four pawed familiar
I see a lazy couch potato, always down to chill
