My Gratitude
In Love with Love

I am grateful for You for just being You.
I am in Love with your Love as You Love me, and the world.
I am hushed in stupefied, awestruck wonder at Your majesty,
At the way You move so gently that even I am unaware of the Doing.
I am frozen, corpse-like, when You gaze upon me in adoration.
Why would You love such a filthy soul like me?
I am unworthy of Love, as my life has shown.
Yet You call me Beloved by name and raise me up,
Tend the flickering flame, and glue my brokenness into solid strength and faith.
You are to me my Father in every way and word, and I fall and stand at Your command.
I am remade in You, flexible where it is needed, strong like a deep-rooted oak at others.
I am compassionate in solidarity with the bereaved instead of false.
I never fail to confess, but confess freely Your Great Name.
And still, in all my ugly, my failed faith, You remain.
A work in progress, yet by a Hand so gentle, Eyes eternal, I melt.
We are all candle’s wax before the blaze that melts us to bare wick and kindles the Flame.
Molded and shaped for greater glories than these, enkindled.
The Fire once lit cannot be hidden again.
The Radiance, the Resonant Glory Eternal.
Abba, lead us to You through Your Son,
And let rage the Holy Spirit’s pyre.
