Ride-share, Rendezvous, and Reflections
Ride-share, Rendezvous, and Reflections

Windows metaled, rubberized layered glass
Reflection shown appearing further away than actuality
Sun kissed, humid summer heat’s winds rustling wavy locks
Glaring tempered glass off her Prada glasses, shielding breeze’s detritus
Engine’s steady pulse neath’ driver’s manicured pink pedaled feet
Tuned to sounds, creaks, pressures passing, traffics unpredictability
Ride Share’s favorite sucker, pleasing the people with sincerity
Miles by hundreds of thousand traveled, souls met in ten thousand’s grasp
Sights new and old, discovered, lost to time, rediscovered
Words spoken, prayers given, stories played and write large
Tires four, treaded road with rump resting on gray Subaru’s seat
Some rides accepted, others not, profit weighing against principle
Mercenary in the extreme, monetizing interpersonal interactions
Phone mounted left of central console, screens, routes, rates, and ratings
Stars the measure of worth and the rate of financial compensation
Support guaranteed to be abysmal and anger inducing
Drinks spilled, fries dropped, phones forgotten, and even a putty knife
Rear passenger side occupied exclusively,
Creating ripples of people past
Haunting every moment whilst driving
I see echoes of their comings and goings,
Ghosts given permanent residence in rear right seat
Legacy’s limited rest
