The Consummation

Fire lit Fable

The Consummation

Sit now, my friends,

Take up a chair and recline.

By fire’s light, hear a tale,

Long told, tall, and ever wide.

A prophet’s prose, a poet’s flame,

Allow yourselves to wonder, to abide.

To turn winding ways toward right,

To make the hidden once more seen.

Alight.

Then and Now,

The road less travelled.

Here and There,

Sights seldom seen, breaths held.

Within and without,

Lit as lanterns, observed by self and souls.

Seen and Unseen,

Mysterious breaths breathed into life.

Riddle and Rhyme,

The tellers’ tales, known and unknown.

Blazing not Burned,

Consuming yet not subsumed.

Fired not Fallen,

Feathered flights feasted in fasting.

Enkindled not swindled,

Truth told, bled to bleed.

Broken not crushed,

Clay vessel of dust formed.

Pressed not pierced,

Refined form for hidden glory.

Former given to Future,

Promised to promise’s Beloved.

Present given to Presence,

Our life for His.

Vessels given for Filling,

Overshadowed and indwelled.

Temple given in Triune Unity,

That Unity might speak as we walk.

The gold given to Purified Flame,

The temple’s treasury, overfilled with glory.

What was has come again,

On wings of wordless flights.

The then as it was become the now,

Once more He walks among us.

The place of words proclaimed our days,

That we would rise to join Him in the skies.

Salvation stalking flocked strays,

That none would be lost.

Near and neath the coming End of Days,

We await, with bated breath, the Consummation.
