The Teacher Taught

Meditations on God

The Teacher Taught

I caught myself earlier today, looking past the years stored in the unkempt vaults of my mind, observing myself through older eyes. It is an interesting sensation when you actively catch yourself being taught by the Teacher. What was once an imprinted emotion is now a reflective tool, used to affect, to learn, to redirect anger into mercy.

My thoughts spiraled after that realization.

That we are all being Taught… often so subtly we miss it entirely.

Questions came next. Answers were less than forthcoming.

“Who is it that whispers the inner dialogue to self, to examine the Soul?”

“Where does realization react and spark discourse that spreads?”

“How smooth is the Father’s Hand, when He instructs in such a way that we miss the very evidence that He has Taught?”

“The seams of self and Him are harder and harder to delineate.”

“Is this how we become?”

Such safety in His Hands. Such Gentle Warmth. Such Perfection of Knowing.

The All in All.

What can even be said when we take a turn through introspection to Eternal Radiance so searing we become dumb and muted with witnessed glory? Words are poor substitutes for the song my soul longs to sing when it is freed from the limitations of flesh. I know I am not the only one who dreams of cities of Gold.

I cannot be the only one who has seen the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

Dreams, visions, internal wandering, daydreams, all are par for the course in His Toolbox. No LSD or psychoactives needed when the Father is giving the sermon.

I have learned a few things, and yes, I’m nearly last to the party:

We see more than we realize.

We discount what is not instantly answered.

We miss blessings given in plain sight every day.

We miss miracles because we believe He needs spectacle.

I’ll lay another deep one down for you.

We forget all is from Him.

We exist in Him.

We are One.
