The Waking Chorus
image created by author with Ai
The world rages,
Yellowed bluest orb once green,
Muddied billion’s home, through space seen
Icecaps melted, glaciered in broken pieces
Perspective lost amidst lives lived,
Caught behind polished glass, or higher halls,
Mellowed and hidden, rodent’s wheels spinning,
Runners slogging, round whilst unmoving.
Idlers idling, scrolling and swiping,
Phones once for calls now personality wiping,
Traces of connection through social’s lifing,
Families foundation shook or otherwise shaking,
Prisoners all to modernities distractions,
Forms lost, Ai rising, complexities in relation,
To the many-faced illusions and self-imposed refractions,
Disentangled thorns, roses in flower’s garden’s predation.
What once was has softly rustled in the wind,
Rising on wings of weathered skies,
Life and love, voices once lonely, now combined,
I sing the song of loss amidst crimes rescinded
Sleepers sleeping absent the finding
Once awoken broken bonds aligning,
Voices joined in chorus, hands raised
Silence banished, revelations mystery unfolding
