Who is the Poet?
We are the Poets
What is the Poet?
A Poet is a caretaker of moments, a historian of emotions, and a texture given voice in written word.
A poet is a soul born of passion and equally, suffering, cursed to feel too deeply, to peer too closely into the abyss that we become touched.
A poet is one who has looked long at the depths of the human experience and ascribed to it a place and a constellation.
A poet is many things and nothing at once, somehow existing within this dichotomy, our neutrality allowing us to enter into the shoes of another with verse.
A poet is the voice of a generation, whether that be unity or division, fear or anger, it is an embodiment of a collective age.
A poet will always cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war, preaching and teaching at once or twain, a poet will remain.
A poet collects our tears and reflects too deeply at times and is broken by the burden of feeling.
A poet is in our children, the youth, our little lights just starting.
A poet is in our grandmothers, our very blood, the story of creation writ large.
A poet is you, today or tomorrow when you compare the clouds with your mood.
A poet will remain.
